Cathsoc

Most Universities have a 'CathSoc' – a Catholic Society, and we are no exception. CathSoc is run by the student members in co-operation with the Chaplain.

It provides a variety of events and "diversions" within a framework of friendship and support. Events are usually arranged and planned on a termly basis – for the current term, see the link "This term".
Members of CathSoc have their own tailor-made meeting/social venue in the form of the 'Melting Pot Bar' in the basement of the chaplaincy building. The bar has a licence to serve alcoholic drinks, has a pool/darts room and movie-screening facilities.

On a regular basis, the bar is very popular for light refreshments straight after the 11.00am Sunday Mass. Then, CathSoc meetings are held there which may involve a guest speaker, DVD screening, or just a party with food and drink! Our Sunday morning choir also use it for rehearsing before Mass.
